Green Gold - Coco Peat
Green Gold - Coco Peat Growing Media
Coco Peat is an eco-friendly growing medium derived from coconut husks, predominantly used in large-scale greenhouses for cultivating food and ornamental plants. Originating with the discovery by soil scientist EP Hume in 1940, coir's peat-like properties have made it increasingly popular. Typically, coco husk chip blocks are employed for orchid, carnation, and fern cultivation owing to their excellent water retention and soil conditioning capabilities. They also play an essential role in controlling weed growth and are preferred as a soil disease-free solution. Buffered Coco Peat requires careful handling as it may unintentionally capture nutrients like calcium and magnesium due to its propensity to hold potassium and sodium, potentially leading to nutrient imbalance in crops. As the leading manufacturer and exporter of natural and organic coir products, Green Gold™ caters to the horticulture, floriculture, and substrate industries globally.
