Kuma - Motorized Trimmer Cuts
The HT - Kuma’s motorized trimmer cuts the crop at either a floating or preset height, and a ground driven conveyor transports it upwards and into a bin. General trimming: pruning crops or shrubs to height. Herb harvesting: will straddle the row, cutting the crop to a uniform height and place the trimmings into a bin. Taking cuttings: cut and collect cuttings from beds ready for pricking out. Clean-up: cutting rank grass or collecting up surplus vegetation.
Shaver - Flat Bed (FB) Harvester
The HT - Shaver - FB (Flat Bed) harvester is designed for harvesting flat bed or field grown plants. As the engine protrudes out one side, the engine must be in a walkway or over the harvested area of the field. It can also be used on wide raised beds. Due to the frame layout it does not have enough clearance to travel over uncut crop so must be carried over these areas. Crops harvested include leafy salad plants and low growing herbs such at thyme. Also available as a self propelled model, and / or with 24v DC power to drive the cutter bar and belt (plus wheels in the case of the self propelled model)
Aqua - Special Purpose Harvesters
Another example of a research project. In this case it is an underwater harvester. The crop is grown in 300 mm deep water and the harvester cuts it 100 mm off the bottom. This project is just being trialled by the customer. In operation, the HT - Aqua is started and pushed forward about 400 mm into the crop. It is then throttled back. The operator inserts his hands into the top of the crop at about the “cut line” and pulls the cuttings rearwards into the basket. The basket is then tilted backwards, removed and emptied onto the tray area where the cuttings are bundled. This is repeated then the operator carries the two bundles of cuttings to a pontoon or transport at the edge of the lagoon.
