Around 50% of the world`s paddy rice production is parboiled. This process involves steaming or boiling the rice kernel while it is still in the husk and then drying it. Measuring moisture in the rice during the drying process can directly reduce the amount of energy required to dry the rice and will also reduce the amount of wasted material.
One of the most popular feed types for cattle, pigs, sheep and horses is sugar beet pellets. These are manufactured from sugar beet pulp after the sugar has been extracted. Measuring the moisture during the production of these pellets particularly during the drying process is essential. The material leaving the dryer must be at the correct moisture level so that it can be easily pelletized. If it is too wet it can cause the machinery to jam or the pellets to go mouldy during storage. If the pellets are too dry...
Hydronix sensors are used to measure moisture in pet food during the production of both dry / kibble and wet pet food.
The moisture content of nuts such as almond kernels is strictly controlled for quality and hygienic reasons. Hydronix can accurately measure the moisture of nuts allowing the producer to ensure that the product is within the allowable moisture tolerances. This maximises profitability and reduces waste due to mould or other moisture related defects.
The XT range of sensors will measure in all types of beans, seeds and organic material in bins, hoppers, conveyor belts, mixers and screw and en-masse conveyors to control drying and wetting processes.
The moisture content of green coffee beans or other similar products may be accurately measured to control the drying and processing of the beans.
Measuring in nuts during processing. See Almonds above.
Hydronix sensors will measure in all types of beans, seeds and organic material in bins, hoppers, conveyor belts, mixers and screw and en-masse conveyors to control drying and wetting processes.
Measuring the moisture in hop beds.
To ensure consistent results from a spray drying process it is important to know the maximum solids content of a concentrate before it enters the spray dryer. Hydronix sensors may be used to measure in the concentrate within a Calandria to ensure a consistently viscous material is fed to the spray dryer. More..
