ICIA - Certified Seed Services

Iowa Crop Improvement Association is designated by the Iowa Secretary of Agriculture and Land Stewardship as the official seed certifying agency in Iowa. This action is provided for in Chapter 177, Code of Iowa. The Association establishes and administers standards for certification and inspects the production of certified seed under these standards.

ICIA - Approved Conditioners Service

The following conditioning plants are approved for the period July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. To become approved these individuals or businesses must demonstrate the knowledge, facilities, and personnel to properly condition seed or grain.

ICIA - Native Species Seed Program Service

The Native Species Seed program is not based upon genetic standards. Instead it provides a method for seed growers to certify the seed’s collection source for the assurance of the consumer. This assurance is important to consumers since many native plants and seeds on the market do not have a guarantee of their place of origin. When a consumer purchases seed labeled with a Source Identified class yellow label or Selected class green label, they can be confident of its geographic origin and area of adaptation.

ICIA - Quality Assurance Services

Iowa Crop Improvement Association’s Quality Assurance (QA) program provides a uniform, unbiased system for producing and marketing seed.
