The Urethane Rounded Spool Rollers, shown on the Kerian Speed Sizer in the video, provide four points of contact with each apple so that the apples are consistently sorted by size even if some are flat or oval shaped. The opening between the rollers consistently and slowly increases. Straightened rollers eliminate any pinching or squeezing during sizing.

When choosing an apricot sorting machine, the first concern is gentle treatment, to prevent damage to the fruit and maximize quality.  The rollers on the Kerian Sizer are designed specifically to handle the apricots as gently as a roller grading table.

In the video, you can see cantaloupe being sorted by size and divided, guided away to be packed, ready for market. The opening between the rollers consistently and slowly increases as the rollers carry the melons forward. Straightened rollers eliminate any pinching or squeezing during sizing. The takeaway conveyor can be positioned a few inches below the rollers so that the melons are carried to the side of the Sizer, easily separated into various tray-pack counts. Dividers on the takeaway conveyors adjust the sizing as needed. Use the Speed Sizer to quickly and gently sort cantaloupe and other melons into box containers. Minimizing bruising during packing keeps the delicate rinds looking fresh and appealing for resale display.

Whether separating brine cherries or fresh cherries, the Kerian Speed Sizer aligns the stem-on product so that the stem is parallel to the rollers. The cherries are then separated by diameter across the width of the takeaway conveyor, with adjustable dividing lanes setting the sizes.

The Kerian Sizer will quickly and accurately sort most products (fruits, vegetables or nuts) by size. Twelve standard models are designed for different capacities and from two to ten sizes, and by varying the type of roller and several other details the Kerian Sizer is customized for each application. When designing cucumber and pickle sorting equipment, we recommend a single set of straight rollers combined with turning flaps that will align the cucumbers and pickles with the rollers. This guarantees that they are consistently sorted by diameter. This is shown in the videos here and below.
