Fertilizer Opener

Martin - Fertilizer Opener

1360 floating row cleaner with UMO-100 combination. Designed to install on 7200 (and later) John Deere and Harvest International Laser Pro. Can be used on Case IH 2000 with heavy duty adapter plate (Case IH PN 4805-4385). Measures 25" from face plate to front of row cleaner assembly.

Martin - Fertilizer Opener

The Martin UMO-100 fertilizer opener mounts directly to the planting unit and is compact enough to be mounted within our 1360 and C125 floating row cleaners. Because the opener mounts directly to the planter unit, the fertilizer is always precisely the same distance from the seed, even when planting on the contour. The lateral spacing from the seed can be 1", 2", or 3", and there are also three vertical settings that allow fertilizer to be placed 3/4" above, even with, or 3/4" below seed depth. We like the way it consistently places the fertilizer in the ground without splattering it on the planter.

Reduced Inner Diameter Gauge Tires

Martin - Reduced Inner Diameter Gauge Tires

Reduced Inner Diameter Gauge Tires to allow the seed disk to lift part of the sidewall and leave it less dense. To reduce sidewall compaction to a minimum, JD style planters will need the gauge wheel tires changed to reduced inner diameter style to allow the seed trench walls to lift slightly. Because this style of gauge wheel tire is so friendly to the seed trench wall, we recommend them for 750 drills. This change allows us to return to the field a day or two sooner after each rain.

Spading-Closing Wheels

Martin - Spading Closing Wheel Systems

Martin Spading Closing wheels move soil toward the seed at planting depth, while lifting and fracturing the surface layer to achieve compaction free closing of the seed trench in wet, hard, or sod conditions. With soil firmed around the seed from each side and the surface layer loosened, crops emerge sooner and planting can be done at the proper depth, even in wetter conditions, without fear of crushed soil above the seed preventing emergence.

Martin - Side Treader Wheels

Aluminum Side Treader wheels are purchased on over 95%  of floating row cleaners and are designed to prevent the row  cleaner wheels from trenching in soft soils. They also provide traction to help keep the row cleaners turning in heavy residue.

Fixed Row Cleaners

Martin - Fixed Row Cleaners

The Martin original style row cleaner clears the widest path of any tooth wheel row cleaner on the market. The 15” diameter, 3/8” thick T-1 heat treated wheels are  made left and right in order to shed the residue better.  The axles are located to the rear of the adjustable stem
in order to ensure a simultaneous stretching and cutting  of the residue.

Martin - Row Cleaners

WA1332 Row Cleaner comes complete with 1 1/2" stem wheel assembly. (For use with all pin adjust brackets which accept 1 1/2" stems.)
WA1334 Row Cleaner is specifically designed for IH Early-Riser planters which require extra tilt. (For use with all pin adjust brackets which accept 2" stems.)

Row Cleaners - A Frame Row Cleaners

Martin - Floating Row Cleaner

Properly designed row cleaners provide a very desirable type of tillage. !e row cleaner teeth continuously engage the soil to the shallow depth of 1" to 1 1/2". !is scarifying of the soil`s surface layer makes it easier for the seed openers to open a welldefined "V" but without furrowing out or causing slabbing or fleaking. Eliminating furrows is the key to preventing erosion in the row on slopes and the ponding of water over the row in level areas. Martin Row Cleaners come in two basic types: rigid and floating.
