Historically, aeration has proven to be the most effective means of reducing BOD/COD, but traditional surface aeration methods offer too little return for the amount of energy and capital invested, and they only affect the surface which allows anaerobic bacteria to proliferate beneath the surface and produce unpleasant odors. The Mazzei AirJection Wastewater Aeration system utilizes proven water treatment concepts to deliver dissolved oxygen where it is needed most… the bottom of the basin. Utilizing the water’s own natural pressure, the oxygen is aggressively and uniformly distributed throughout the basin enabling aerobic bacteria to digest the organic matter. The result – fast, reliable BOD/COD/odor reduction.

Precise chemical applications for irrigation systems… Mazzei is the low cost solution. Mazzei injectors are patented, high-efficiency Venturi injectors with internal mixing vanes. They are used worldwide for injecting gases and liquids such as fertilizers, pesticides, chlorine, and other chemicals into pressurized water systems. Mazzei injectors operate over a wide range of pressures and require only a minimal pressure differential between the inlet and outlet sides to initiate a vacuum at the suction port. Mazzei Venturi injectors do not require external power to operate but a small booster pump may be used to produce the minimal differential pressure required.

Most growers know our Venturi Injectors as the industry leader for chemigation and fertigation systems. Mazzei also offers the best system to put air (oxygen and nitrogen) directly to the root zone. Plant roots need air to breathe — without it, soil can become anaerobic, inhibiting plant growth and yield. Mazzei AirJection Irrigation technology improves crop yields, water use efficiency and fertilizer inputs by getting just the right amount of air into the root zone.

Mazzei manufactures a broad line of patented high-efficiency Mazzei® Venturi injectors, Mass Transfer Nozzles, Degas Separators, and Flash Reactors. Our GDT Process ozone injection and degasification skids combine these products in a turnkey system for use in commercial aquariums and for aquatic life support.

In winemaking, wash and wastewater contain large amounts of organic matter. High organic loading results in high Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) levels, and over time, the lack of oxygen allows anaerobic bacteria to proliferate (turn septic) and cause odor problems. With Mazzei AirJection® Wastewater Aeration Technology, ambient air or concentrated oxygen is aspirated and uniformly dispersed under pressure resulting in maximum oxygen transfer. The dissolved oxygen residual is maintained throughout providing efficient, reliable, odor-free operation. In the Mazzei system all equipment, except for the nozzles, are installed above ground for easy access and maintenance.
