The Mayer Big Bale Breaker has been designed for reliability and many years hard service, with safety in mind and to CE specifications. The bale breaker works as follows: the operator should remove the packaging before fork-lifting the bale into the machine. A retaining bracket in the hopper holds the compost bales pallet. The safety door is shut and the bale is then rotated sideways to allow the elevator chain and flight to pull the compost up the incline to the discharge area. On the way, the compost passes through the crumbling unit and is aerated. The compost is then discharged, as and when the built-in sensor indicates that more material is required in the hopper. All the potting machines have central pot size adjustment by means of one handle for fast pot range changeover, plus an ultra-smooth movement from pot to pot for ease of potting, even at high speed. A high capacity machine with a potting rate of 900 - 4500 pots per hour, fitted with a 2-speed elevator and 1.5 cubic metre hopper as standard. The option of an increased hopper capacity to 2.75 cubic metres is available if required.

Loading from a low level and discharging at a high level by means of an elevator makes this machine an ideal partner to all makes of potting machine and tray filler, or even hand potting benches. Loading the hopper is open to choice: it is feasible to load the raw material by hand, otherwise, for larger scale operations, by using a front loader over the hopper sides. Bulk bags may also be an option, hung over the side of the conveyor by a forklift, or there is the alternative of a powered input conveyor if required. The mixing times and the watering pipe may be pre-set for accuracy and consistency of the final mix time after time. After mixing, the elevator moves to the discharge position and the compost can be used on a call-off basis or discharged in a matter of minutes.

Its variable speed enables you to match the input speed to the label apply speed for great results.
