Plant Raisers reputation for grafted tomato plants, grafted cucumber plants and grafted pepper plants is now well established and the skills of our team are increasingly in demand. Our experience covers many varieties and rootstocks, for both conventional and organic production.

Plants are grown to produce two shoots from one plant. Potentially this halves the number of plants used initially to give the same number of heads per m². Our investment in high intensity lighting has helped to perfect quality and improve production schedules.

Seedlings are precision sorted at a rate of up to 8500 per hour into three grades by our TTA Plug Sorter ECO with it`s Vision Plus grading System and two cameras. This results in improved consistency and uniformity of finished plants.

At Plant Raisers we understand the importance of controlling the root environment in the rockwool plug or block. We have two independent irrigation control systems so that we can always water at the correct times with the ideal feed. We have bulk stock tanks for the diluted feed used for watering seedlings and also for wetting up rockwool blocks.

Plant Raisers primary means of pest control is by regular and targeted introductions of natural enemies - biological pest control. Trained staff monitor sticky traps each week, together with regular crop inspections to check for the presence of any pests. These inspections are further supplemented by regular inspections by a representative from Koppert, our supplier of biological control organisms.
