Insects play an important role in causing plant diseases, damaging crops. The insects penetrate the plant through the subsoil parts, causing various diseases in the crops. Disease symptoms may be sprout mortality, shriveling or inexplicable dehydration. These pathogens are found at depths of tens of centimeters in tiny locations, making it very difficult to fumigate them. In the absence of proper soil treatment, these pathogens can remain in the soil for many years, preventing sensitive crops from being grown in this soil. Their activities are influenced by the soil’s physical properties and by the microorganisms living inside it.

Mulch film is used over the soil, used for protection, insulation and for soil temperature control. Some of the mulch films transmit visible light, reflecting visible light or selectively transmitting visible and ultraviolet light. Politiv manufactures a broad range of multilayer films, transparent, single-color or dual-color. Mulch film is available in different dimensions to fit the customer requirements. Films are manufactured in thickness ranging from 17 to 400 microns and widths up to 18 meters.

Cover Films for Growing Tunnels: Greenhouses and high tunnels are structures covered with a solar ray-transmitting film. The structure provides physical protection of the crops against wind, rain, snow and other natural hazards. It also allows for interior climate control. Having climate control inside the structure, enables better conditions that yield superior quality and productivity.  Growing inside climate-controlled greenhouses or tunnels enables year- round production/supply of flowers, vegetables and fruits.

High-Quality shade nets, knitted or woven, made of HDPE polyethylene and UV stabilized. These nets allow the optimum shading needed for the crop and weather condition. The nets can be used for: Shade Houses, Greenhouses, Hail protection, Bird protection and Windbreaks

These are nets made of stabilized polyethylene (LiNO) filaments giving the net mechanical strength and structural stability. The nets are used to protect crops and orchards against birds, bats and moths on the one hand, while reducing hail and wind damage on the other hand. The net reduces water consumption by up to 30%.

Anti-Insect Nets: In a world of intensive agriculture and demands for less spraying, it has become virtually impossible to grow crops in open, unprotected areas. The crops in the open areas are exposed to many pests such as the tobacco moth, thrips and leaf aphids, which lower the crop quality and quality and require frequent spraying. The crops can be protected and the demand for spraying can be drastically reduced by using woven nets. These are nets made of woven stabilized polyethylene filaments with specific hole sizes which define the net’s mesh, length and width according to customer requirements.
