The PortaBHB milk ketone test is a semi-quantitative dipstick for the detection of sub-clinical ketosis. Dip the test strip into a milk sample or squirt right from the cow and compare to a color chart. The test strip changes color in the presence of BHB. The higher the concentration of BHB, the greater the color change and the incidence of ketosis.
The PortaSCC® milk test is a somatic cell count test for early on-farm mastitis detection in cows. The reaction time is 45 minutes. The user can read the test with a color chart or optional digital reader. The tested milk must be fresh within 8 hours for the best results.
