Inconsistent bunk scores and subjective evaluations of cattle behavior make it hard to optimize cattle feeding. The PLT Bunk Management System enables feedlots to improve results by using objective, real-time data on feed consumption and feeding behavior to ensure each pen receives the right ration, in the right amount at the right time.

Under the auspices of a grant from ICASA and in partnership with leading livestock producers and researchers, Precision Livestock Technologies is leveraging its machine vision platform to improve livestock managers’ ability to identify and treat sick animals in a timely manner to reduce the unnecessary use of antibiotics. Of particular concern is bovine respiratory disease (BRD), the major cause of morbidity and mortality in feedlots that results in over 40% of lightweight calves being treated with antibiotics.
