Using a high-precision electronic system this machine sorts tomatoes of the desired color tone and removes possible foreign bodies from the product inflow line directly onto the field, before delivery to the processing companies. During the harvest, the operator does not need to intervene frequently, as the system is provided with self-diagnostic functions that warn of the onset of problems in the rejection or in the vision unit.

For vegetables and diced fruit sorting Protec presents the new DixAir line of sorters. This system has proved to be the most efficient in detecting defects such as off-color, rot, and discoloration in black, green and white colors. The choice in diced tomato sorting is the DixAir T system.

This sorter, thanks to its vision system, sorts defects such as rot spots in many types of product. The machine has two conveyor belts, the first horizontal and the second one sloping. Illuminated by a powerful system, the vision system examines the product on both sides while in-flight exiting the second belt, then defects are removed by a compressed air rejection system.

Protec’s line of tomato optical sorters meets any processing requirements of the agri-food industry: whole tomatoes, peeled tomatoes, pulps, diced and tomato for paste. The tomato optical sorters reject products unsuitable for color, or identify and eliminate defects and foreign bodies. Protec’s line for tomato processing features also sorting machines for whole tomatoes based on size and draining machines for the juice from diced products.

Using a high-precision electronic system, this line of machines sorts tomatoes, fruits or vegetablesof the color tone desired and, according to the applications, rejects from the flow of product those of unwanted color or foreign bodies if present. It has a wide variety of applications, from tomato, peeled products to chili peppers.

In its 3-way sorting configuration the Extrasorter separates the product in three different classes by color, defects or foreign bodies. It can be applied to various product categories, such as potatoes, olives, tomatoes, walnuts, mussels. It operates with double vision and double rejection systems: by inspecting the product completely and accurately, also on large quantities.

Protec has developeda one of a kind optical sorterthat can sort aflatoxin contaminated corn. Aflatoxins belong to particularly harmful family of mycotoxins and the ongoing climate change has increased their development. Corn destined for human and animal food is one of the toxin’s preferred target. The contaminated kernels, illuminated with a special light, become fluorescent and are detected by the sorter’s cameras. The vision system, thus can detect the contaminated kernels, and it sends a reject command to a system of precise air jets.
