On a hot, dry windy day, the furrow will crack back open exposing the seed. The Zipper Closing Wheel will eliminate this problem. The Zipper is a 13″ angled spiked closing wheel designed to take the place of standard, rubber closing wheels. It works in all soil types, and is the go-to wheel for the toughest of no-till conditions. The non-aggressive, 1″ angled spikes on the Zipper feather the soil in the furrow while simultaneously applying pressure to ensure the furrow is zipped shut.

If you use no-till or other alternative till planting methods, then you know how difficult it is to properly close the seed furrows. The Furrow V Closer comes up superior in closing the seed trench ahead of the press wheels in heavy, wet soils. It does not run in the seed trench, but rather to the side of the seed V opening, making it easier to place starter fertilizer and/or chemicals in the furrow with the seed.

The Y-Not allows fertilizer to soak into the sidewall and keeps it from going directly onto the seed. It is insurance against fertilizer burn. The holder in the kit acts as a guide, keeping the disc from rubbing on the 1/4″ fertilizer or chemical hose.

As the Rebounder places the seeds in the bottom of the furrow, the Straight Shot places fertilizer or inoculants directly on the seed from under the Rebounder. It works very well on planter or drills that have press wheels that run on or in the furrow. The Straight Shot will keep the fertilizer from caking up on the press wheel. It also prevents mud build up on the press tires and reduces debris getting caught up under it.

The Hose Holder, attached to the top of the Rebounder, distributes the liquid out front and on top of the seed. This method mixes a little soil in with the fertilizer.

The Schaffert fertilizer application system is uniquely designed and assembled to meet individual customer needs. At the heart of our pump systems are the GX1 and GX2 distribution centers. The GX1 contains a single pump and the GX2 has dual pumps. The number of pumps needed is determined by the implement’s size and desired fertilizer application rate.

The Gauge and Press Wheel Scraper consists of an adjustable poly blade or a metal blade (for JD press wheel scrapers) that keeps the depth wheel clean and mud-free allowing you to keep an even and consistent seed depth. The Gauge Wheel Scraper easily welds or bolts onto most planters and once the wheel scraper is installed, with a one wrench design, it will conveniently flip out of the way when you are not using it. Press Wheel Scrapers for JD & Kinze Planters do not have Poly Scrapers—they are metal only.
