In the current greenhouse horticulture, methods are often used to add CO2 to the crop. This is usually done with flue gases or from equipment with a combustion engine in or around the greenhouse. The composition of this additive usually contains harmful gases such as ethylene and NOx. If the concentration in the greenhouse air becomes too high, this will be at the expense of the quality and yield of the crop. In collaboration with EMS and CropEye, SERCOM has developed the Air Monitoring system. This signals in good time whether the concentration of ethylene or NOx is rising too high in the greenhouse and necessary measures can be taken, if required. You can think of stopping CO2 dosing and adjusting the ventilation intensity. This prevents loss of production and quality. Air Monitoring consists of the MAC View®-Greenhouse Gas Analyser from EMS and a module on the climate computer from SERCOM. 

Sercom`s Storage manager is an application within our process computers that has been specially designed for drying, conditioning and storing of arable products. With one central computer you can control every drying and/or storage situation and you create the ideal support.

The control technology focuses on the physiology of the plants in each specific crop. Complex technical settings are fully automated and the computer reacts to any changes in the weather immediately! The Sercom CO secure (CO meter) is a product which has acquired an excellent reputation within the (inter)national horticulture. In 2021 this system has been reinvestigated and we thought it was time to implement some significant improvements. Both the software and the hardware have been adjusted in such a level that one can actually consider these updates as an entirely new design. The basic function of the CO meter remains of course, to monitor the measured toxic gas concentration. For this, it uses three context-sensitive keys for easy operation. An important extension of the functionality concerns the integration of a sample gas flow protection. For this purpose, a gas temperature sensor has been mounted on the detector. Because of this, the measured gas temperature will also be registered through the standard 4-20mA cabling on the meter. This serves as the basis of the integrated flow alarm.

With Dynamic Adjustable Setpoints (DAS), the climate settings can be entered exactly to the desired value from minute to minute. DAS is a programme that enables you to set up your settings in an extremely simple way. By moving the mouse, you can specify exactly which settings you want to enter for the next 24 hours within each graph. The user determines in what detail this is done. The result is immediately visible in the graph that is formed. This makes it possible to take even better account of your own specific operating conditions and the characteristics of the crop with maximum flexibility. Each setting can be entered, relative to time, both absolutely and astronomically (in relation to sunrise or sunset). A combination of both options is also possible. As a result, the influence of the sun on your settings is always taken into account in advance. This results in an extremely accurate design. 

With the Sercom colour LCD control panel, you can operate your process computer simply and reliably. The LCD control panel consists of a compact console with a colour display screen, an easy-to-use rotary push button control panel and three touch-sensitive keys. It takes up little space on your desk and has a robust design so it is equally at home in a dusty environment. Plus the transflective display uses a unique feature that ensures that the image is always clear and legible, even when (sun)light falls on it. The Sercom LCD control panel utilises a clever communication technique involving light transmission. This prevents induction damage caused by lightning, because the process computers and the control panel are galvanically separate. If the process computer is far away from the LCD control panel, light transmission can be combined with the industry standard.

The SC600 controls the greenhouse climate by providing fully automatic adjustment of the ventilating windows. The SC600’s regular adjusting knobs creates a regulated environment combined with the optimum user friendliness. In addition, the SC600 features a microcomputer using the most advanced technology. The SC600 thus combines the simplicity of traditional electronics wit the flexibility of modern electronics. This new area of application for climate control offers many options: control of the two motors for the ventilating windows for unilateral or bilateral ventilation; adjusting knobs to control the temperature and maximum opening of the ventilating windows, on and off switches for the rain indicator and the wind direction dependency; control indicators for operation, rain indication, storm warnings, and wind direction.

The MACView Ethylene Postharvest Analyser is an extreme sensitive ethylene measurement device suitable for measurement of ethylene in postharvest storage rooms, and scrubbers. Levels arround 1 ppb resolution can be measured.
