Retrofitting a sprayer from fixed to variable dosage is the most effective way to ensure real savings on pesticides, while also ensuring that the treatment is proportionate to the canopy volume. This kit, developed in collaboration with the Agricultural Engineering research group of the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Sciences (DiSAFA) at the University of Turin, is intended for use with existing vineyard and orchard sprayers.

Canopy tracking, approaching and withdrawing speed to/from the bunches and amount of leaves to be removed are customisable. The only machine able to compete with manual processing – as it can be used even when the grapes are ripe.

At the most important contest of technical innovations for agriculture held in Italy, the manufacturer TECNOVICT, based in Pianello Val Tidone (Piacenza), was awarded a prize (its seventh!) for its machine designed to pick and store grapevine leaves – then sold as a by-product to the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry. Special compounds that can be obtained from by-products of the wine industry have become increasingly popular in recent years. There has been a greater focus on research for a more efficient use of these by-products. Various bioactive compounds can be found in spent grape marc and grape seeds. More generally, the value of wine waste can be enhanced by following different strategies, thanks to its chemical characteristics and the presence of a large variety of high added value compounds.

This version introduced in 2019 stems from the need to work in rows arranged in a giropoggio with strong transverse slopes. This is the typical situation of the Langa vineyards, from which the most legendary Piedmontese wines are born: Barbaresco and Barolo. The work head is equipped with an additional inclination to make up for the unusual position of the tractor and the rows. The sacred respect towards the bunches of nebbiolo destined for these expensive wines has always made us opt for late puffing carried out strictly by hand, but the proverbial delicacy of our machine has ended up unhinging this dogma: respect for the fruit comparable only to that of the hands. has been able to combine the ability to carry out this operation with enormous timeliness.

The 111 VRT leaf-stripper has been devised to enable controlled working in the vineyard, not removing leaves in a uniform way, as with all the previous equipment, but controlled depending on the higher or lower presence of vegetation in different parts of the same vineyard. The process we are putting forward uses a telemeasuring system to create index maps of vegetation, to be used as a guide to identify areas for high or medium levels of leaf removal, as well as a total lack of leaf removal for areas with low vegetative vigour.

Hydraulic machine with high quality “SCH Schumacher” tooth blade system. It can boast great safety in compared to circular saw systems. Its simplicity and constructive robustness make it economical to purchase and manage. The cutting system allows to cut very hard branches with great cutting quality up to diameters of about 3.5 centimeters as well as to clearly split even very small branches. Available in versions for apple orchard but easily adaptable to other tree cultivations carried out in rows. The electro-hydraulic controls with joysticks are available as optionals (mandatory for tractors) and the hydraulic control unit mounted on the lift. For systems with anti-hail nets it is possible to mount a topping with two hydraulic movements.

The 106 trimmer can deal late vineyard processing with an eccellent quality of work. Although highly evolved than the starting model, this machine maintains all the key feature of the successful initial project born in 1991. The tooth-blade system, without bladeholders that doesn’t require maintenance, made by the qualified German company Schumacher chosen at the debut has never been abandoned for its extraordinary robustness, versatility, absence of bladeholders, cutting quality even in the presence of lignified vegetation, making this trimmer suitable to work even for dry pre-pruning. For these characteristics, the 106 trimmer can deal late processing with a quality of work unknown to rotary machines.

The strong chassis is also protected from the possibility of collision with poles hidden by vegetation, this is possible by using a safety device that allows the rotation of the whole horizontal part of the chassis around a pin placed at the top of the vertical column and its return in position once raised the head and overcome the obstacle. A whisker rubber reference allows the operator to trim safely keeping the canopy equidistant from the centerline of the row. The sidebars uses the tooth-blade system, banner of our company, while the topping is rotary.

This vineyard trimmer is the doubled version of our 180 model and preveserves the many advantages introduced: lower control of movements, high visibility in the front of the tractor, great working speed. With this machine you are able to trim contemporarily both right and left side of the row with a perfect control of the situation.

This trimmer cuts the vineyard vegetation with efficiency even at very high forward speed of the tractor and in presence of tender vegetation.
