Oregon Service

For over 25 years, T-Y Nursery has been the go-to wholesale nursery supplying re-wholesalers, independent garden centers and plant brokers in this state, making us experts for supplying the noticeably different climates of Western and Eastern Oregon. First and foremost is the amount of annual rainfall on either side of the state. Moisture-laden air masses moving into Oregon from the west gradually rise as they move eastward toward the Cascade Mountains. This increase in elevation causes the air masses to release moisture onto the areas west of the Cascades. By the time the air masses have crested the mountains, they have released the majority of their moisture. This is why the Willamette Valley receives on average 40-50 inches of annual rain, while the great plateaus east of the Cascades get an average of less than 8 inches of rain per year.

Nevada Service

T-Y Nursery has been the top wholesale nursery growing plants for Southern Nevada for over 45 years. The company has worked diligently with customers to develop a plant palette catered specifically for the extreme climates of Nevada, Las Vegas in particular. Nevada consists of two distinct deserts; the Great Basin in Northern Nevada, and the Mojave Desert in the south. Being the driest state in the country, heat- and drought-tolerant plants are not an option, they are a necessity. In addition, the need for cold-hardy plants rises in the northern areas of the state. Plants unable to stand up to the cold will typically survive the mild winters in areas such as Las Vegas. As you head north, the plant palette changes drastically to varieties able to handle freezing temperatures. And, as in any desert climate, proper soil preparation is necessary to ensure landscape success.
