Containment Booms

TBC - Cranberry Boom

Cranberry boom is a floating barrier that is used to corral the cranberries after cranberry farmers have removed the cranberries from the vines. These lightweight yet durable booms are strung around the floating cranberries and allow the berries to be pulled towards the shore and concentrated at the preferred extraction point. These cranberry booms are an alternative to the traditional boards that have been used to contain and corral the cranberry crops in the bogs. Because they are lighter than the boards, they are easier for the harvesters to deploy, manipulate, remove, and store. These cranberry booms are designed to provide a freeboard height of 4 inches above the waterline, allowing the cranberries to stack to the 4 inches as the boom is retrieved.

TBC - Fish Farm Boom

Fish Farm Boom is used at commercial aquaculture and mariculture operations that raise and sell fish. The use of containment boom at fish farms provides numerous benefits. It concentrates the feed in a contained area, despite wind or waves. By corralling the fish food and keeping the feed away from the shoreline, it prevents the waste of feed that beaches. The use of Fish Farm Boom also keeps shore birds, raccoons, other animals, and fish from feeding along the shoreline, thus reducing the loss of fish to these predators. For areas where feral hogs and wild pigs are a problem, it also prevents these pests from damaging the pond shorelines as they consume and root for fish food that has drifted ashore. Texas Boom offers anchor line in bulk, sold by the spool. Providing adequate length to your anchor lines can be important to allow anchors to set properly. Water and wind conditions may dictate which grade line is appropriate for your application.
