Isoray’s Cesium Blu seeds are powered by the next-generation, brachytherapy isotope Cesium-131. The titanium cased seed contains a gold wire for visualization and affords greater flexibility of dose placement in situ, compared to stranded seed products. Loose seeds are shipped in glass vials contained within a lead pig and can be shipped in quantities of 1 to 100 seeds per vial at the specific activity requested by the customer.

Isoray’s Cesium Blu Strands contain seeds and bio-absorbable spacers placed end to end within a bio-absorbable sleeve. The seeds and spacers are sealed within the sleeve, allowing the strand to be implanted as a unit. This technique significantly reduces the potential for individual seed migration and also accommodates extracapsular extension dose coverage when planned appropriately. Strands are shipped individually via Blu Tray and ready for implantation.

Isoray’s Cesium Blu seeds are loaded into Mick cartridges and can contain up to 20 seeds per magazine but are shipped standard with 15. Each Mick cartridge is supplied sterile and can be used in conjunction with a Mick Applicator, where individual seed placement is desired. Mick cartridges can also be used with the Blu Build™ Intraoperative Loader, when custom, real-time stranding is desired in the operating room.
