Vivent - Crop Stress Monitoring for Indoor Growers

Real-time alerts direct from your crop enable you to respond to suboptimal environmental conditions, insect infestations or diseases well before visual symptoms of crop stress appear. Many indoor growers install our sensors at the start of each crop cycle. The sensor stays in place throughout the crop cycle. Growers receive email or SMS alerts when crop stress occurs. Data can be integrated with other platforms including LetsGrow, Pylot with many others in development.

Vivent - Crop Stress Monitoring for Outdoor Growers

Real-time alerts direct from your crop enable you to respond to drought, nutrient deficiencies, insect infestations or diseases well before visual symptoms of crop stress appear. We also work with agrochemical suppliers to help them understand product efficacy in field trials. Farmers can often see when crop treatments are making a difference to plant health and physiology. Most of our outdoor installations are on permanent crops but we also monitor asparagus, potatoes, sugar beet, maize and soy for full crop cycles. Sensors are installed and remain in place permanently on long life crops. They are currently powered by solar energy. Growers receive email or SMS alerts when crop stress occurs.

Vivent - Crop Stress Monitoring through Electrophysiology Technology

Plants sense and respond to many changes in their environment, both above and below ground. Vivent records electrical signals, which are one of several signalling mechanisms used by plants. These signals were discovered over 120 years ago but they are complex and hard to record and understand. Specialised electronics and powerful computing means that it is now possible to decode these signals. Plant use electrical signals to control growth, development and reproduction and to mount defenses to pests or disease. By isolating certain plant responses we can detect specific stimuli. Alternatively we can measure variations to the expected signals to detect plant stress. Plant communication is an exciting and intersting field of study.
