The Model 970-C Sugar Consistency Monitor is designed for precise measurement of massecuite consistency in sugar vacuum pans. It provides continuous monitoring of consistency levels across all ranges encountered in both high-grade and low-grade sugar boiling operations. This instrument serves as a valuable tool for both experienced operators and those in training, enabling consistent production quality by maintaining optimal processing conditions. The monitor features zero and span adjustments to enhance readability in critical viscosity or consistency ranges, and it can be used to measure concentration in various applications such as sugar melters, evaporator syrups, and molasses dilution tanks. The 970-C also finds use in measuring concentrations in slurries like milk of lime, evaporated whey, distillery slops, and fruit or vegetable products. Its specifications include a stainless steel sensor, a wide dynamic range, low maintenance, high accuracy, and robustness. The sensor is installed in the side of a vacuum pan, positioned to measure freely moving samples of massecuite without obstruction. The device includes a 3.5-digit LCD display, provides a 4-20mA output, and can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from 0-50C. Both NEMA 1 and NEMA 4X enclosures are available for different mounting preferences, and it operates on standard 115 or 230 VAC power.
