2-D Hammer Mills Grinding is a key operation in the feed production proces. Van Aarsen 2D series hammermills consists of 3 types with capacities ranging from 5 50 ton/hr, dependent on formula and type of raw material. The Van Aarsen hammermill can be incorporated in a pre-grinding as well as a post grinding system. One of the main advantages of the Van Aarsen hammermill is the solid, low maintenance construction. Solid baseplate The hammermill baseplate is filled with concrete and the total assembly is mounted on shock absorbers for minimal vibration. Breaker plates The breaker plates at the top of the grinding chamber are of high wear-resistant quality, due to their heavy duty design. Two directions of rotation The mill has two directions of rotation allowing both corners of the hammers to be used. Hammers Due to the large-diameter rotor, relatively small hammers can be used at optimal hammertip velocity. This largely increases hammer efficiency. The mill has two directions of rotation, allowing all corners of the hammers to be used by shifting them just once. By applying eight holes in the rotor, the hammers can be turned row by row, which is a considerable time-saver. Screens With the optional automatic screen change, screens with varying hole diameters are pneumatically released from its housing and then fed through the mill by automatically.
