AMS - Dual-Purpose Soil Recovery Probes - Brochure
The Dual Purpose Soil Recovery Probes are made from either chrome molybdenum type 4130 steel with a hardened tip or all stainless steel in two diameters, 7/8-in or 1 /1-in and lengths of either 12-in or 24-in with a 7-in slot in the lower part of the body. The 4130 steel models are nickel plated for rust resistance. The sturdy design of these probes resist bending and twisting. The tip cuts a core a little more than 1/8-in smaller than the inside diameter of the Probe. This allows the sample to pass into the Liner as it is collected. The top of the probe is internally threaded to accept the special Top Cap. The Dual Purpose soil Recovery Probe may be used to collect samples either directly in the sampler body or in a clear plastic Liner contained within the body. This sampler features the “Reach and Grab” system. The Liner protrudes 1 3/4-in above the tope of the Probe Body to allow for easy removal of the sample in the Liner. the Top Cap accomodates this extension and is provided with a 5/8-in NC thread on it’s upper surface for attachment of a Cross Handle, Extension or Slide Hammer.
