Bale Pro - Model CFR 1251 - Dual-Chamber Bale Processor Datasheet

For more than 20 years Highline Manufacturing, based in Vonda, SK, has been designing and building bale processing equipment for North American cattle producers. The latest innovation from Highline is the CFR 1251 bale processor. The 1251 Bale Pro®, a dual-chamber bale processor, provides the ?exibility to process two bales at once and blend them into a healthy ration. With winter feed costs accounting for as much as 36%* of total production costs, managing this variable can make or break the pro?tability of a cow calf operation. The ability to blend or mix off a certain percentage of straw or poorer quality hay along with high quality hay maximizes the ef?ciency of a winter feeding program and is critical in extending feed supplies on years when good hay is in short supply. # Hay Hay Straw Hay/Straw Head 100% 50% 50% Blended Cost 200 $30,000.00 $15,000.00 $6,750.00 $21,750.00 $8,250.00 300 $45,000.00 $22,500.00 $10,125.00 $32,625.00 $12,375.00 400 $60,000.00 $30,000.00 $13,500.00 $43,500.00 $16,500.00 500 $75,000.00 $37,500.00 $16,875.00 $54,375.00 $20,625.00 Annual SavingsHighline Manufacturing - the CompanyThe philosophy at Highline Manufacturing is to produce livestock feeding equipment that is designed to meet the nutritional needs of the animal. This philosophy is similar to that of Highline’s parent company, Bourgault Industries, a world leading manufacturer of small grains airseeding equipment. Bourgault designs seeding equipment designed around the agronomic needs of the crop. Both companies understand that success lies in providing reliable, well-built equipment that contributes to the producer’s bottom line through increased productivity.Beyond bale processing equipment, Highline also manufactures bale wagons, rock pickers and ditch mowers. Their products are sold across North America through a network of farm equipment dealers. ?The aggression of the ?ail drum in each of the two bale chambers can be adjusted independently, allowing the operator to achieve the desired product mix. The 1251 can also be equipped with a feed chopper which creates a uniform blend of shorter cut lengths; increasing digestibility and improving rumen ef?ciency. Another popular option on the CFR 1251 is the mounted grain tank, which allows barley or other whole grain to be metered into the hay mixture. The grain is cracked or scari?ed when it passes through the chopper which eliminates the need for pre-processing.When equipped with the grain tank and chopper, the CFR 1251 really is an all-purpose machine, allowing the producer to blend two bales of varying quality, insert metered whole grain, chop hay and put down bedding. It provides similar results to a Vertical Mixer in many applications and is cheaper to operate with a lower purchase price.Assumptions:Feed Hay StrawWeight (lb) 1800 1200Cost (c / lb) $0.028 $0.013Cost ($ / bale) 50 15Feed lb/day 30Feeding Days 180The CFR 1251 maximizes your blended input ability; mixing the perfect balance of bales of varying quality with metered whole grain product; the result is optimized feed at a lower purchase point.
