Canada Red SPM® (shredded pine mulch) has been the number one mulch choice of landscape professionals in Ontario for over 25 years. Canada Red SPM® consists of more than 75% bark fiber and less than 25% wood fiber. It has a fresh aroma, red to rusty brown colour and a high organic matter content, making it a perfect ground cover for gardens, planters and tree plantings. In addition to improving the aesthetic of your garden, Canada Red SPM® increases moisture retention and root zone cooling, which minimizes frequent irrigation. The low pH of the pine also helps to condition the soil and improve the growth of plants. Canada Red SPM® has proven weed suppression characteristics and is effective in decreasing weed competition in areas where chemical control cannot be used.
