Rigorously tested byJohn Deere’s installation engineers, a newcooling pack reduces power requirementsto give improved fuel economy and reducednoise levels. A reversible cooling fan canbe used to blow out any build up of dustin the radiator.• Transmission – A ZF fully automatictransmission provides 6 forward and 3reverse speeds, with single lever control,shuttle shift capability and manual override.The torque converter is equipped withlockup in all forward gears.• Axles & Suspension – Rugged mechanicalaxles (equipped with electronic diff locks)provide safe 50kph road speed and comewith none of the reliability concernsassociated with hydraulic wheel motors.Front and rear load compensating airsuspension comes as standard providingexcellent ride in the field and on the road,both when fully laden or empty.• Braking - Dual circuit inboard wet brakesprovide more than enough braking capacityto stop the fully laden Multidrive FC quicklyand safely. Locatedbetween the axles for perfect weight distribution,all Chafer tanks are extremely durable and stablethanks to their stainless steel construction andinternal baffles. Stainless steel provides aperfectly smooth nonporous surface whichreduces the build up of chemical residue. Thisminimises the time taken and the amount ofliquid required when rinsing.• Plumbing - Utilising a high capacity centrifugalpump, 3” suction and 2” pressure plumbing, theMultidrive has the ability to achieve both highrate liquid fertiliser applications and low rateprecision chemical applications.• Boom - The Multidrive FC is available withboom widths ranging from 24-40 metres.Released in 2004 Chafer’s triple fold boom iswell proven and has helped hundreds of growersmaximise their crop potential through fewer cropwheelings, minimised compaction and moretimely spray applications. Chafer ContourAutomatic boom levelling is available asan option.• Boom Suspension - In addition to theMultidrive’s air suspension, the booms areequipped with suspension and damping forbounce, yaw and tilt, protecting the boom andproviding a stable ride in all field conditions.• Control Systems - Automatic spray rate controland electro-hydraulic function control come asstandard on the Multidrive via an RDS Delta 34i.Muller ISOBUS controllers offering auto sectioncontrol, guidance, variable rate application andauto steer are specifiable options, allowing everincreasing accuracy and automation.• Versatility - The Multidrive Forward Control unitcan be fitted with either a Chafer Spray pack ora granular fertiliser spreader equipped with itsown bag lift.
