Ecological Waste Apparatus (EWA ) Brochure

EWAThe unique patented technology for processing biologically decomposable waste (BDW), SP-sludge and other biological waste due to controlled aerobic thermophilic fermentation.Aerobic fermenter www.agro-eko.czEdict No. 295922 ÚPV (Industrial Property Offi ce) „The method of conversion of biodegradable hygienically non-stabilized substrate into hygienically stabilized product“ from November 2005 and application to world-wide utilization from 5th December 2005 WIPO PCT/CZ2005/000087.The equipment was developed with fi nancial support of Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Czech Republic within the PROGRES 2003-2005 program.Tech nologic a l c onc ep tControlled aerobic thermophilic fermentation of BDW mixture and waste biomass from agricultural and forester area with option of biological fi nal drying of the fermented mixture.Group setting of aerobic fermenters is used for processing of large amount of biowaste and biomass (2000t and more). The outlet heat occuring during the fermentation is used for fi nal drying of the fermentate by means of recuperator.Deter m in a t ionProcessing of biologically decomposable waste (BDW), municipal SP-sludge, including subsidiary animal products according to Edict 1069/2009 EC.Cons t r uc t ionEWA fermenter consists of thermally insulated operation space, system of injectors for intensive airing of the fi ll, system of fi ll shoveling consisting of segmented fl oor and bucket conveyer placed on the inside of the fermenter, and integrated device for loading and unloading. All technology points are placed inside ISO 40track container (ALL IN ONE).Pr oc es sin g p r incip leMixture of biodegradable waste and structural (liquid-absorbing) biomass is loaded in the operation part of the fermenter. Optimal fi ll humidity (50–60 %) and disposal of air oxygen activate the metabolism of aerobic bacteria.Aeration of the fi ll is done by airing and shoveling inside the fermenter. High level of metabolic activity and simultaneous reproducing of bacteria is demonstrated externally by rising temperature of the fi ll. Intensive thermophilic aerobic fermentation runs under the same conditions in the whole fi ll section. This accelerates composting processes. Complex organic matters are decomposed and transformed into others. Turbulent biological oxidation runs in the fermenter due to ideal conditions. The fi ll temperature rises above 70º C and proteins are gradually denatured. High fi ll temperatures for defi ned time period cause inactivation of present bacteria and pathogenic organisms (viruses, bacteria, leaven, mould, protozoons, and worms). This process is called thermophilic aerobic stabilization and hygienization of the fi ll. Due to high temperature the number of microorganisms is decreasing and weed seeds loose their germinating capacity.Continuing fermentation at temperatures around 50º C and intensive fi ll airing enable so-called biological fi nal fi ll drying. Common mixing rate is 30 % weight ratio units of sludge component and 70 % weight ratio of biomass. If the biomass input humidity is low (straw, wood-shavings) the mixing rate can be up to 50:50. The unloading humidity of the fermentate used for compost production is about 40%. If the fermentate is intended for energetic purposes the fi nal humidity is usually below 30 %. The time of fi ll delay in the EWA fermenter depends on the character of the fi ll and the fi nal product. It takes 48–96 hours.EWAAerobic fermenter Unloadingof fermentateControlboardOverall viewof EWAB iom a s s mod i f ic a t ion for E WA fer men terTo make a good fi ll, biomass must be modifi ed by crushing, cutting or chipping. The maximum size (granulometry) is infl uenced by the following use of the fermentate. The maximum length of fi brous substrates is 50 mm. Ideal chip sizes are 20x20x20 mm. Animal side products (due to edict 1069/2009 EC) must have maximum particle size up to 12 mm. A composting car is used for disintegration of biomass. In the car, the fi ll entrance substrates are weighed, cut and mixed simultaneously. The structure of the fi ll is based on type recipes. Type recipes are based on previous workability tests of particular sorts of BDW. Examples of use of fermented and thermophilicly hygienized biomassAfter the thermofi lic aerobic fermentation is fi nished the fi ll is stabilized and hygienized. As its qualities have been essentially changed it is further on called fermentate. It can be used as: biofuel – compost for energetic use (according to ed. 482/2005) compost for agrotechnical use (after maturing on the surface) ingredient for recultivation substrates The period of the fi nal conversion of the fermentate into compost intended for application on the soil is 4–8 weeks depending on the used entrance substrates (raw materials) and character of the fi ll.In f luenc e of E WA fer men ter on en v ir on men tWhen running EWA fermenter no matters endangering environment are used or arise. No excessive noise polluted waste water or solid waste is produced when running the aerobic fermenter. It is possible to equip EWA fermentor with a biological fi lter for smell producing waste processing. The fi lter load is made of active fermentate which is processed in the fermenter after losing its fi ltering function.Injectorsand thermometric barsHydraulic driveof floor segmentsCer t i f ic a tes a n d p a ten tsTech n ic a l p a ra meter sThe company is holder of: certifi cate No. 14/2009 by State test-room of agricultural, forester and food-processing machinery in Prague dated May 30, 2006 patent No. 295922 ÚPV (Industrial Property Offi ce) „The method of conversion of biodegradable hygienically non-stabilized substrate into hygienically stabilized product“, dated 16th November 2005 application to world-wide utilization from 5th December 2005 WIPO PCT/CZ2005/000087 utility model No. 14978 ÚPV “The equipment for the separation of the bottom layer of the fi ll, especially by the aerobic fermentation”, dated 10th December 2004 utility model No. 14979 ÚPV “The equipment for controlled aerobic fermentation of biological materials”, dated 10th December 2004 utility model No. 14980 ÚPV “The equipment for substrate relocation, especially by the aerobic fermentation”, dated 10th December 2004 utility model No. 14981 ÚPV “The equipment for the aeration of the fi ll, especially by the fermentation”, dated 10th December 2004A n n ua l p r oc es sin g c a p aci t y During 48-hour cycle is processed 2 000 tons of waste (biomass and sludge) and produced cca 1 650 tons of fermentate (humidity 40 %) During 96-hour cycle is processed 1 000 tons of waste (biomass and sludge) and produced cca 825 tons of biofuel (humidity 30%) Ener g y dem a n ds1 ton fermentate output / humidity 40 %/ 48-hour cycle .......................................................5 kWh1 ton fermentate output / humidity 30 %/ 96-hour cycle .......................................................8 kWhIns t a lla t ion dem a n ds electric socket 3 x PEN 400V/32A consolidated surface for adjustment of EWA fermenterEWAAerobic fermenter length ......................................12 192 mmwidth ........................................ 2 438 mmheight ....................................... 2 896 mmempty container weight .............14 800 kgmaximum weightof the full container ....................32 000 kgworking zone volume ...................... 36 m3load weight .....................................10-17 telectric supply .................................15 kWProcessing electric energy consumption1 ton of compost .............................. 5 kW1 ton of biofuel ............................... 8 kWh1 kg of biofuel – calorifi c value ......................... cca 10 MJS cheme E WAT he develop men t of t he aer ob ic fer men ter E WA wa s sup por ted b y M in is t r y of In d us t r y a n d Com mer c e of t he Czech Rep ub lic.AGRO - EKO spol. sr. o.Obecní 811, 735 43 Albrechtice, Czech Republictel./fax.: +420 596 429 017e-mail: info@agro-eko.czwww.agro-eko.cz
