Frostgard - Spray Concentrate Technical Datasheet

FROSTGARD is a spray concentrate used to afford some protection to crops when temperatures drop to freezing or a few degrees below. Bacteria on plant surfaces act as catalysts for ice formation. As temperatures drop, the number of bacterial cells which become ice-nucleating active (DMA) increase. As a contact material, FROSTGARD works to prevent the INA bacteria from forming ice crystals on the plant`s surface. It does not kill the bacteria, just inhibits them from causing damage. Frost sensitive plants and the fruit of many plant species cannot tolerate ice formation within the tissues. Because FROSTGARD also works as a systemic, it speeds up the plant`s metabolism and reduces the tissue damage inside the plant.
