1969
Family patriarch and founder of Sharp Steel, Glen Sharp, started the family business in steel fabrication. Eventually providing various steel components for the RV industry, Sharp Steel was also the vocational home for Chubb Griffin (Glen’s son-in-law) starting in 1972. Chubb developed his skills as a machine worker and truck driver delivering the products to customers. In the two decades of tenure, Chubb rose to the management team as General Manager and eventually Vice President. Chubb would later development a passion for fabrication and ways to expand his skills in steel production. It was during these years that Chubb’s children became exposed to a life in steel production.

1996
Chubb Griffin opens Chubb Steel as a steel brokerage firm supplying various industries bulk steel and fabricated steel.

2001
Chubb Steel diversifies and begins fabricating steel components to the RV and Trailer Industry. Being so closely tied to an industry involving towable trailers allows Chubb to learn a greater amount of knowledge for what kind of quality and workmanship is needed to become a leader in manufacturing.

2006
Chubb Steel opens wholly owned subsidiary, Griffin Trailer™ which expands on the more than 30 years of family knowledge in steel extruding and fabrication. Offering a variety of trailers for the commercial and private retail consumer markets, Griffin Trailer becomes an innovator and leader in the hydraulic dump trailer industry.
