Ground Hog - Model 25CS - Track Loader Scraper Brochure

Ashland EarthmoversGround hog 2500Building on nearly 60 years of experience, Ashland Industries has developed the Ground Hog 2500 scraper to move and support nearly four times the payload of ordinary buckets. By mounting to your power unit’s universal quick-attach mounting plate, and with your loader’s arms down and fully against the skid steer frame, Ashland’s Ground Hog utilizes your machine only as a power unit for traction and hydraulics. This scraper’s oscillating front beam and large caster dramatically reduce stress on your loader’s arms. The Ground Hog 2500 is perfect for compact landscaping purposes such as grading, stripping sod, or spreading topsoil. The front oscillating beam allows for 38° of rotation, so you can operate on uneven ground while keeping your cuts uniform and straight. This machine also allows you to scrape and carry, so you can enjoy scraper access to a variety of small spaces -- all with no need for a tractor. A provided safety chain prevents the operator from accidentally lifting the loader arms up off the stops. This keeps the loader arms protected from any unwanted stress and strain. • All the functions of the scraper are controlled by the low flow auxiliary hydraulics. The operator simply drives the machine and operates the auxiliary hydraulics. • No boom controls are needed. Many operators have commented that when using the Ground Hog 2500, they don’t feel so exhausted at the end of the day. Caster Wheel assemblyThe Ground Hog 2500’s front caster wheels carry a large portion of your payload’s weight. More importantly, this machine rolls the weight instead of carrying it like a bucket. rear rockshaft / Mounting PlateThe universal mounting plate is secured to a heavy duty rear pivoting axle assembly that allows the machine to float independently of the power unit. This pivoting shaft, when combined with the front caster wheels, allows you to travel over uneven ground more quickly and with a smoother ride that is much easier on your power unit and operator. How Does It Develop Bigger loads?Ashland Industries has been manufacturing earthmoving equipment since 1953. The Ground Hog operates just like our larger machines. By taking a small cut and traveling a longer distance, you are able to maintain a faster ground speed. The combination of speed and a consistent amount of dirt being cut keeps the incoming material “boiling” or “churning” within the scraper bowl. This translates into larger loads with very little effort. • The Groung Hog’s bowl is pulled from the mainframe by a pair of linkage arms mounted close to the floor. This arrangement is more efficient and provides greater control while grading. The low attachment point also prevents sudden weight shifts while cutting heavier soils. • The Ground Hog’s three-piece blade system consists of two 4” x 15.25” corner blades and a Product Profile: Ground Hog 2500longer 6” x 42” center blade. While cutting, the center blade extends 2” further, which allows this blade to do the majority of the cutting. How Can our Dealership Sell More Ashland ground Hogs?Ashland’s Ground Hog is one of a kind. There is nothing else like it on the market today. To be successful in selling this unit, your dealership must DEMONSTRATE the machine. • Allocate a machine(s) for demonstrations and rental programs. • If possible, establish an area to have potential customers operate the machine in a larger group. • Customers will also want to try out the Ground Hog on their jobsite or power unit. Consider taking a machine to the customer or allow the customer to pickup a Ground Hog to demo.• After the demo period, a customer will typically request to rent the machine for a week or two. Consider offering a Rent-to-Purchase option to the customer by applying all or a portion of their rent towards the purchase of the machine. Once retailed, your dealership could release another unit or more to the demo/rental program. How do I find Customers? The first place to look for new Ground Hog customers is with your existing customer base. Ashland has also found that introducing the Ground Hog sometimes provides the extra nudge needed for a customer to upgrade into a larger machine. • Contact potential new customers to promote your power unit and Ground Hog scraper. New customers may be found in Yellow Page listings for: - Grading Contractor - Excavating Contractor - Site Development Contractors - Paving Contractors - Concrete Contractors• Connect the Ground Hog to a suitable power unit. Many of our dealers have reported that customer don’t know what the machine is for unless it is hooked up to a power unit. • If you have a machine on display within your showroom, we highly recommend playing the “jobsite video” on a TV mounted on the machine. Every tradeshow that Ashland has played this video at has played a major role in getting more people to come into our booth. If you’re planning to have a large event and would like someone from Ashland’s factory to attend, please contact us as soon as possible at (715) 682-4622 or (877) 634-4622.Product Profile: Ground Hog 2500 Sales_Book_reduced
