Every ring consists of three tine segments which are interlocked onto the rotor casing. Each ring can be replaced individually. The small gap of only 3 mm ensures accurate chopping. Every knife is protected by the Trimatic knife protection system. The chopping length can be quickly changed by simply preselecting different knives. Should there be a blockage in the system, the entire chopping unit can be easily lowered hydraulically from the tractor cab.13 LELY TIGOMaximum chopping powerExcellent chopping results mean improved fermentation and pick up of fodder. The knives are positioned only 37 mm apart with the 25 mm wide rotor tines between them, resulting in a cutting gap of only 3 mm. The narrow cutting gap ensures smooth and excellent chopping.Easily varied chop lengthOn the Tigo R Profi and R Combi models, the minimum chop length is just 37 mm The chop length is easily varied as not all crops are the same and not all livestock farmers have the same requirements. The full set of knives is actually split into two groups so the selection can easily be made between non-chopping, chopping to 74 mm or chopping to 37 mm.Reliable due to good knife protectionEach knife is individually safe guarded by the Trimatic knife protection system. Should a foreign object enter the unit, the rotor presses it against the knife. The release spring flexes, immediately reducing the force on the knife and thus saving the rotor and the knives from damage. Once the obstacle has passed, the knife returns to its operating position again.Optimum ease of maintenance The new chopping unit can be pivoted completely out of the wagon for maintenance purposes. The cutting unit can be unlocked and pivoted out to the side without the need for tools. Therefore, a parabolic suspension tandem assembly has been chosen. Thanks to this assembly, the Tigo can manage high speeds on the road and at the same time has excellent ground contour following qualities in the field. The equalising linkage with its large pendulum range ensures optimum ground alignment in the field and in silos, and also ensures that the load is distributed proportionally among the two axles. The heavy duty leaf springs provide optimum driving comfort.Bogie tandemThe Lely Tigo R Profi, R Combi and T models are all equipped with a 20-tonne bogie tandem axle unit with rear steering axles. They can also be fitted with a forced steering system. The large suspension travel provides even load distribution and excellent ground adaptation. The large volume tyres (maximum size: 800/45-R26.5) provide a huge supporting surface which is gentle on the ground.Tandem unit with hydro-pneumatic suspension supportThe tandem axle unit with hydraulic compensation provides high rolling stability. Intelligent hydraulics ensure optimum ground adaptation. When fitted with an automatic level control, the full suspension path is always available, independent of the loading state. The automatic level compensation ensures that the vehicle always stands parallel to the slope. The cross switching of the suspension cylinders ensures the rolling stability of the vehicle, thus permitting higher speeds when turning. This chassis is available for the Lely Tigo R Profi, R Combi and T models.Tridem unit with hydro-pneumatic suspension supportOn the Tridem chassis, high loads are uniformly distributed, thus ensuring very gentle treatment of the ground. The hydro-pneumatic suspension support with automatic level control offers greatest driving comfort. The front and rear axle are directed by forced steering. Because of the low trailing attachment with ball head coupling, the vehicle can be trailed at an admissible total weight of 30 tonnes. This is due to there being a choice of four different sizes, single or tandem axles and foldable or rigid extension sides. The Tigo ST models have been especially developed for mountainous regions. Their ability to operate in such circumstances is due to the combination of wide track width and a low centre of gravity.23 LELY TIGOOptimum crop treatmentThe swing arm feed unit of the Tigo S ensures optimal crop treatment. The kidney-shaped cam track steers the feed forks through the loading area, smoothly and crop-friendly. The double tines mounted on the feed forks remain in contact with the crop in an ideal angle until they are retracted again. The result: maximum filling of the wagon with carefull treated crop.Unique gear driveThe feed unit is powered by a heavy duty gear drive. Its ability to absorb high loads ensures consistent and smooth running of the wagon. Each feed fork is mounted on two individual roller bearings. From the Lely Tigo 40 S model onwards all bearings have central lubrication as standard.Perfect cutting qualityAll Tigo S models can be fitted with a maximum of 33 knives arranged in two rows giving chop lengths down to 38 mm. The chop length can be adjusted via a lever which selects the required number of knives (0/5/17/21/33). The knife shape ensures an even cutting action. Each knife is protected against foreign objects and can be exchanged without the need for special tools. A blockage can be easily removed by pivoting the chopping unit (hydraulic actuation optional).
