Yesterday the USDA released the first weekly crop progress report for the year. US corn planting came in at 3% complete, which was 1% above last year at this time, but still 3% below the average for this point in the year. Winter wheat rated good to excellent fell 1% to 34%. Last year at this time the winter wheat crop was rated 36% G/E. The spring weather forecast and Russia-Ukraine tensions continue to dominate headlines.
