1996

The first product line developed was the Strawboss. It was developed so that ginseng producers could use large square bales instead of small squares. This brought a crew of 33 people down to 2 while tripling their productivity; this resulted in a significant labour savings.

1997

The introduction of the Bale Grab. PhiBer has developed 11 models to accommodate the different loaders and size of bales. Originally designed to speed up the handling time of single bales in the field, many more models were developed over the years to meet a variety of bale handling needs and match PhiBer Accumulator capacity.

1998

Development of the Swath Turner/Merger. Designed to bring two windrows of alfalfa together and inverting them, while being very gentle on the leaves of alfalfa. This method would reduce the ash content in the hay which tied up nutrition in dairy cows and respiratory problems in horses. It also significantly decreased drying time. The Swath Turner later became know as the Merger.

2000

The first automatic Bale Accumulator. Co-founder Phil figured the fastest way to get the bales off the field was to accumulate them the way they are going to be handled. This core principle guided all PhiBer accumulator designs even today. The original parameters of the accumulator were to be fully automatic, simple and work both in silage and dry hay. As time went on, PhiBer became experts in big bale handling.

2001

The 02 Series Bale Accumulator was introduced. This model had many updated features from the original design. This included improved castors, electronic and hydraulic systems.

2003

04 Series Bale Accumulator was launched. This series ended up being in production for 11 years. This generation of accumulators had many improvements especially for operators who baled in a wide range of conditions. Faster hydraulics, improved software for more automatic dump patterns and heavier castors and frames encompassed the changes. Late model 04 series machines had options for VT interfaces with CNH balers.

2005

The Merger continued its evolution with the introduction of a new frame which made transport a push of a button. The new frame allowed for merging up to five rows into one. It also changed from its traditional blue color to yellow.

2006

Mergers continued to improve and was renamed the Super Merger. New pickups were designed to improve capacity in silage conditions. The new pickups improved operator friendliness making adjustments and services easier. Drapers were also improved for increased capacity.

2007

The Super Single evolved out of the changes from the Super Merger product line. A new frame was designed to support the new pickups and drapers. A draper extension was also developed to allow operators to merge up to three rows into one.

2009

The Triple Cutter was developed for cofounder Phil Friesen’s farm. His farm was frustrated with high fuel prices and wanted to reduce fuel used in cutting hay. The goal was to reduce the fuel bill for cutting by 50% while lowering capital outlay. Through this project they ended up reducing fuel consumption by 60-75% while having the capacity to cut up to 600ac/day with one operator.

2011

The Front Toolbar was developed out of the Triple Cutter project. People were requesting just the front center toolbar for applications where they wanted to pair it with a traditional pull type conditioners. Different hydraulic systems were developed to match the different pull type conditioners.

2013

PhiBer came to the market with the Stacking Accumulator. The purpose was to group 4’ wide bales in a package most commonly handled. This accumulator stacks the bales vertically ready to handle. This accumulator has cut the handling time in half over traditional accumulation methods and is four times faster than picking single bales. The Stacking Accumulator is growing in popularity quickly as operators are seeing the time savings.

2014

06 Series Bale Accumulator was introduced. With changing conditions and balers the 06 series machines are faster, more reliable and work in a wider range of conditions. They feature a new hydraulic package, improved electronics and sensors, new lighting, improved rear roller assembly and new safety features to protect operators and service personnel.
