Poul-AR® Valorization of poultry manure

Colsen has developed a new technology to valorize poultry manure. Where until now poultry manure is considered a waste stream and a considerable cost, Poul-AR® now represents an important valorization step, by which the manure will generate nutrients and energy. This is directly associated with considerable operational benefits and thus represents this technology a large added value for the poultry sector.

In contrast with generic manure types, poultry manure is very rich in nutrients as nitrogen (N) & phosphorus (P), but also in organic material. Both the form and the N/P ratio in which the nutrients are present make poultry manure less suitable for direct application as natural fertilizer. Within the Poul-AR® process, eco-innovative principles and technologies are applied, resulting into a sustainable route to nutrient recovery and energy efficiency from poultry manure. The approach makes use of subsequent biological and physico chemical treatment steps. It hereby produces a valuable high-grade N-fertillizer of your choice (ammoniumnitrate or ammoniumsulfate), the dried solid fraction of the digester that can be applied as P-fertillizer and biogas which can be used as a source of heat and electricity.
