Per Blomqvist worked as a computer consultant before he decided to to change direction in life. He took a course to become a window maker, and started his own business within the field of window restoring and building conservation.Building methods from the 18th century”One of our jobs was to restore the windows in a manor that Carl Linnaeus visited during his Scanian expedition. The outer window frames were from 1740 and the inner frames were replaced in 1910. Most of the wood was in perfect condition.” says Per.Inspired by the durable 18th century method, he began manufacturing windows of the old model. The high demands made him form a limited company a couple of years ago, and he started to recruit staff. The MF30 has two interchangeable spindles. Besides the cutter spindle you have a high-speed spindle with four different speeds – 3 000, 6 000, 9 000 and 14 000 rpm. (A unique function in this price range)“I don’t know about any other vertical milling machine in this price range that has a high-speed spindle with several speeds. This is a necessity if you are using tools of different sizes. Each tool has an optimum peripheral speed. The smaller the tool is in diameter, the higher the rpm has to be. A too high rpm in relation to the size of the tool is a safety risk.” 4. The MF30 has two tiltable fences on either side of the cutter. (A unique function in this price range)“As far as I know, the MF30 is the only vertical milling machine in the world with fences that can be tilted. I can’t understand why other machines don’t have that.
