We have been manufacturing quality aluminium floats since 1990. Each float is designedand manufactured to suit the individual customer's requirements. We can supply thefloats with a trailer, or build the float to fit a client's trailer.We produce floats from 16 feet in length, forcattle, sheep or pigs. The Stewart livestockfloat is an all aluminium, welded design, givinga very strong, durable float. The float sides aremade from aluminium sheets pressed forextra strength. These sheets are welded toaluminium box section posts positioned at1150mm intervals, and are welded to the aluminium treadplate floor all round for easycleaning. The floats are supplied with internaldividing doors and may be fitted with sheepdecks.The floats are secured to the trailer using fourhigh-tensile securing straps; this systemmeans that the float can be lifted off quicklyand easily freeing the trailer for other uses. Thefloats are of a strong, lightweight design anddo not require stands, but instead are placedon level ground when not in use.The internal dividing doors are made entirelyfrom aluminium. The cattle dividing doors arefabricated using pressed aluminium sheets,and are fitted with a wheel at one end for ease of use. The cattle doors can be positioned along the length of the float usingthe galvanised pins provided. At the mostcommonly used positions near the centre ofthe float the holes are reinforced by means ofan aluminium bush with a steel insert, and astop is provided to prevent the door passingthe hole when being pushed shut.The floats may be fitted with sheep decks;however the sheep float is of a slightly differentdesign to the cattle float so it must be madeto accommodate the decks. Cattle floats cannot be retrospectively fitted with sheep decks.Tractor DrawnLivestock FloatsStandard Range25Tractor DrawnLivestock FloatsStandard Range The sheep decks are all aluminium sectiondecks and store in the float when not in use. Thedecks are fabricated in two feet sections; eachsection is constructed of an aluminium boxsection frame sheeted with aluminium treadplate. Each section of deck stores in theroof without the need to slide the sectionsfrom back to front and is held in place withone pin, making the process of decking thefloat quick and simple. The sheep dividingdoors are fabricated using pressed aluminiumsheets.We manufacture floats for pigs with hydraulicallyoperated moving decks or with hydraulicramps.
