Properties ZOODYN is an extremely active iodophore disinfectant, even at high concentrations, which is effective on all gram-positive and gram-negative micro-organisms as well as on psychrophilic, thermophilic, acid-resistant ones and on fungi, protozoans, spores, TB bacillus and viruses. ZOODYN has been tested on three micro-organism and has proved effective on Micrococcus aureus in 1' at a concentration of 0.05%, on E. coli in 1' at a concentration of 0.1% and on spores of B.Subtilis in 8 h. at a concentration of 5%. Thanks to these properties ZOODYN is particularly suitable in the treatment of infectious diseases both of small and of big animals. Its solutions neither stain nor corrode and have a considerable penetrating ability thus securing disinfecting and cleaning. Compatibility ZOODYN is deactivated by reducing action substances; is incompatible with caustic alkali. Toxicology Tests have been conducted on white rats and on Guinea-pigs by direct introduction of appropriate doses of iodophore in their stomach, to establish the oral acute toxicity of the product. The values of the oral acute LD emerging from the tests respect the limits fixed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, therefore it can be safely said that ZOODYN, at normal concentrations of usage, can be considered non-toxic. The administration of ZOODYN in rats for 4 weeks is not accompanied by undeniably pathological toxic manifestations, therefore it has no systemic effects. Sphere of application Thank to its effectiveness, ZOODYN is widely used in the zoo technical, agricultural-veterinary sectors for treatments in places in general, on equipment, animals and their drinking water. It can also be used in dairy industry for places and equipment. Dilution rates and directions for use ZOODYN must be diluted in water at the following maximum rates: • in poultry breeding: to disinfect cages, troughs etc. cc. 900 for 100 liters. • In stables: for general disinfecting, cc. 900 for 100 liters; for the cleaning and disinfecting of udders, cc. 300 for 100 liters. • In dairy industry: for equipment, receptacles, pipes etc., cc. 150 for 100 liters; for the disinfecting of tables, floors, walls etc., cc. 900 for 100 liters. The adding of 50 cc. of ZOODYN every 100 liters of drinking water will be a treatment against infections. Warning ZOODYN solutions are amber-coloured. Colour intensity depends upon the content of iodine and its persistence shows the solutions activity. When the colour fades or disappears it is necessary to renew the solution or prepare a fresh one. In any case, the product should not be in contact with foodstuffs. After disinfecting, rinsing with clean water is recommended. For the proper use of this product, follow the instructions given on the product label. Read and keep the MSDS. Do not contaminate people, animals, foodstuffs, feeds, beverages and their containers with the product. The producer assumes no responsibility towards third parties.
