Horti Asia 2018
Horti ASIA – The International Tradeshow for Horticultural & Floricultural Production and Processing Technology, was firstly launched in Bangkok, Thailand in the year 2012. The profile of the trade fair covers the full supply chain of the industry, including topics as breeding and seeding technologies, fertilizers, planting and cultivation technology, climate control equipment, grading and greenhouse equipment, packaging, certification, terminals and ports, as well as warehouse facilities for fruits, vegetables and flowers. The objective of the show is to provide solutions for the horticulture industry in order to reduce the production cost and increase in quality & yield. Horti ASIA has become the fastest growing international event for horticulture in Southeast Asia.

Around 8,200 visitors from 76 countries gathered information at the fifth edition of Horti ASIA, which was held from 15 to 17 March 2017 in Bangkok (Thailand) together with AGRITECHNICA ASIA, the trade fair for agricultural machinery. Altogether 219 exhibitors from 30 countries presented their latest technologies and solutions. Highlights of the show were an extensive technical program and several international pavilions such as from the Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan, and Germany. 375 top buyers from the entire Asia-Pacific region participated in the “Hosted Buyer Program”.
The next Horti ASIA will again be held together with AGRITECHNICA ASIA. It is scheduled for 22 to 24 August 2018 in Bangkok. The trade fairs are jointly organized by the DLG – German Agricultural Society and the Dutch-Thai exhibition organizer VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific.
Thailand is one of Germany’s main partners in the growth region of South Asia and holds a key position in the ASEAN group (Association of South East Asian Nations). Germany and Thailand maintain substantive political relations which translate into collaborations on many political issues, in multilateral institutions such as the United Nations and in five or six political German foundations operating in Thailand.
In 2015, German companies exported goods worth €4.05 billion to Thailand and imported goods worth approximately €5.05 billion from Thailand, with bilateral trade generating about €9.1 billion in that year
