Benchmark Genetics Iceland not affected by the ongoing volcanic eruption

Benchmark Genetics Iceland (BGI) sites are outside the defined risk area of the seismic and volcanic activities around Grindavík in Iceland. All our employees are safe, and our operations, encompassing fish and egg production, have remained uninterrupted. We maintain our regular egg delivery schedule, ensuring the expected product quality.

Nevertheless, we have robust plans to respond to scenarios that could arise if the situation changes. The safety of BGI’s employees is our first priority, and we have secured reserve power and access to critical inputs, including oxygen, feed, and oil, to enable continuity of operations.

Even in the unlikely event of the Keflavík airport closure, we have diversified shipping methods, drawing from the successful adaptations we made during the COVID-19 pandemic.
