We just sold our first LiqoVibro production system to harvest the algae culture for one of our clients. The new LiqoVibro membrane technology is especially suitable for (1) dewatering algae cultures with higher concentrations (e.g. algae production with Photo Bio Reactors) and/or (2) dewatering algae cultures to higher end concentrations of 50 – 150 grammes per liter. The LiqoVibro membrane plates with pore sizes varying from 0,08 – 0,2 micron are vibrating relative to the media. The introduction of this new innovative membrane technology is a breakthrough in the harvesting of algae cultures.
Watch as the photobioreactor automatically scale-up this algae culture over four days.
Inoculation
This 1250L PBR from Industrial Plankton was inoculated with 2x 20 L carboys of Chaetoceros muelleri grown in f/2+Si culture media. Stay tuned for a video of this inoculation!
Once inoculated, water was continuously added to the bioreactor with nutrients (bottles to the left and right of the screen) automatically stirred and added by peristaltic pumps every hour. As the algae grows the bioreactor injects CO2 to...
OriginClear Inc. (OTC/QB: OOIL), developer of breakthrough water cleanup technology, announced that the US Patent and Trademark Office recently granted two patents for algae production. The inventors included OriginClear co-founders, Nicholas and Riggs Eckelberry.
“We contributed these early patents to our French joint venture, Ennesys, to support that fast-growing startup,” said Riggs Eckelberry, OriginOil CEO. “Eleven additional inventions covered by 68 filings are in the pipeline, with more...
W2 Energy, Inc. (OTC: WTWO) is pleased to announce that it has begun procedures for the development of its recently purchased property for the purpose of utilizing its patent pending algae bio reactor the SunFilter.
As previously reported, W2 Energy made a patent application for its SunFilter algae bio reactor in March 2010. The SunFilter is a low cost, scalable reactor that has high productivity capabilities. It also uses less water, has less harmful contamination and maximizes the sequestering of carbon...
W2 Energy, Inc., a clean energy company (www.w2energy.com) (PINKSHEETS: WTWO), is pleased to announce that as of March 1, it has converted the SunFilter 1 algae reactor to use Euglena Gracilis, a more efficient strain of algae.
The Euglena Gracilis strain of algae grows in fresh water rather than saltwater, and can sequester 40% of the carbon dioxide dissolved in the water. The previously utilized algae produced a 10% return. This higher concentration allows W2 Energy to immediately begin building a complete...
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Russell Industries, Inc. (Pink Sheets: RIND). William R. Wilder, Ph.D.,
President of Axis Environmental Services, Inc., reports that the full
scale production pilot reactor has been successfully growing algae since
early March. Initial low dosage inoculation has resulted in substantial
population density, with current tests focusing on nutrient balance
optimization and harvesting/extraction methodologies. The bench scale
reactor has been...
