IEG - inaugurated today at Rimini Expo Centre ´beer&food attraction´: The supply chain of out-of-home experiences represented in its entirety
Until Tuesday 18th February, the Italian Exhibition Group show that brings together the most complete national and international range of beer, beverages, food and OUT-OF-HOME trends. BBTech Expo and Italgrob´s International Horeca Meeting also take off
Not just food and beverage, but also consumption experiences. This is what distinguishes Italian Exhibition Group´s Beer&Food Attraction, which opened today at Rimini Expo Centre. An evolution supported and appreciated by the market, which has in fact united the entire supply chain of the eating out sector, attracting trade members and professionals of the entire OUT-OF-HOME world to the IEG expo centre.
At the opening ceremony, this concept was made perfectly clear by the speakers taking part. In his introductory greeting, the president of Italian Exhibition Group, Lorenzo Cagnoni, emphasized: ´At this event, dedicated to professional trade members, we present a complete showcase of the sector, with 1,000 brands exhibiting and 100 buyers from 35 countries. It ranges from national and international quality beer, through the world of food for the out-of-home trade, to new technology for beverage and the most innovative ideas on the topic of venue furnishings and fittings.´
Mattia Morolli, Rimini´s Municipal Councillor responsible for work and relations with the local area, reminded attendees: ´Here it is not just a question of food, but experience, tourism and the pleasure of getting together. Beer&Food Attraction is the standard-bearer of this excellence, the vivacity of a sector in which Emilia-Romagna stands out for being the only region in Europe able to boast a range of 44 PDO and PGI products. An example to be followed for having been able to construct an attractive system with characteristics that are hard to beat around its natural, artisan and cultural resources.´
Vittorio Ferraris, general manager of Unionbirrai: ´We are about to face four intense exciting days. Thanks to the splendid collaboration with Italian Exhibition Group, we have managed to bring to the expo over 160 exhibitors, who represent approximately 20% of the sector´s companies. This is the result of the sector´s growth from the point of view of both dimensions and managerial aspects. No fewer than 350 breweries are competing for the Beer of the Year Award with approximately 2,200 products, at an event in which talk is not only about beer, but also agriculture, the supply chain, protection of intellectual property and marketing.´
Vincenzo Caso, chairman of Italgrob (Italian Federation of HoReCa Distributors): ´IEG is the leader in the organization of trade fairs and this is why two years ago the Federation decided to being the International HoReCa Meeting to this event. An expo that was already important for the supply chain, but is now on the way to becoming the real reference point and which confirms our farsightedness in indicating the future scenario, forming the excellence for the out-of-home channel.´
Rocco Pozzulo, Chairman of FIC - Italian Federation of Chefs, summed up the wide program of the coming days: ´At Beer&Food Attraction, which we consider our second home, we organize one of the most important events for the FIC, the Championships of Italian Cuisine. With the competition, we bring 500 contestants from Italy and abroad, over 1,500 chefs, and today I invite you to participate in the most moving part, the competition dedicated to special youngsters, as well as the National Finals of the FIC Best Student Trophy, and a brand-new event, the Street Food contest.´
Lino Stoppani, Chairman of FIPE, Italian Federation of Bars and Catering, concluded: ´I wish to thank IEG, who with its events has always invested in Italian food service, a sector that has incredible potential, involving tourism, wine and food and culture. The expo manages to perfectly combine commercial interests and conference events, which are of use for orienting production and consumption, such as the one this afternoon on sustainability and the Green Economy, now a preponderant issue.´
Until Tuesday 18th Beer&Food Attraction will be held simultaneously with BB TECH Expo, the professional exhibition of technologies for beers and beverages, which is once again proposing the winning formula of a ´show within a show´, able to bring together all the producers of drinks with raw material and processing and packaging technology companies.
In the afternoon, proceeding will get under way at Italgrob´s International Horeca Meeting, an event that will be opened by the conference on ´The Horeca supply chain in the green economy era´, at which speeches will include those by: Vincenzo Caso, chairman, Italgrob, Corrado Peraboni, CEO of Italian Exhibition Group, Fabio Fava of the University of Bologna and Luca Pellegrini, president, Tradelab.
