Master Magnets maximise ECOs’ wood chip profits
Major UK composting company ECO Sustainable Solutions recently contacted Master Magnets Ltd with a metal contamination problem, which if solved, would significantly increase the value of their wood chip.
ECOs’ wood chip is supplied for many different uses including playgrounds, pathways, gardens and parks. It is for this reason that the 50mm wood chip is required to be a completely metal-free end product.
The enquiry was sent in to Master Magnets in the later part of 2008 and discussions began regarding the types of separation equipment that should be supplied to handle the throughput rates, product burden depths and the extraction requirements that ECO set out to achieve.
Shortly after, it was confirmed that Master Magnets were to supply an ECS 150 to ECO for the removal of non-ferrous metals such as Aluminium and Copper and a Permanent Magnetic Drum to ensure that the product was also free of any ferrous materials.
The order was placed within a month and was installed in the November at ECO Sustainable Solutions’ wood chip processing plant in Dorset.
Steve Harman writes:
“The Master Magnets separation equipment that we have at our plant is performing very well for us and our wood chip is now of a much higher quality than ever.”
