Potential Odours From Composting Facility

Following the recent hot weather combined with the closure of other composting sites, Biowise has received an unusually high volume of household garden waste which has resulted in a backlog of material waiting to be processed.

As advised by our industry regulator, the Environment Agency, we have temporarily stopped accepting garden waste into our facility at Willerby whilst we implement an improvement plan to bring the operation back under control.

There is a risk that some of these improvements may cause some intermittent odours which will diminish after a short period of time. Unfortunately, these improvements must be made as otherwise it may lead to more serious, persistent odour problems.
