Home n’ Dry - Model AlkaProStar -Alkaline High Protein High Starch Feed Material
AlkaProStar is a new, alkaline, high protein, high starch feed material for PMR/TMR diets, designed to stabilise and enhance rumen function and improve overall feed efficiency. It is available exclusively through Dugdale Nutrition.
AlkaProStar is supplied in a ground meal format and comprises Home n’ Dry, the foundation of Dugdale Nutrition’s Alkasystems technology, with cereal (wheat or barley options), giving a consistent finished product.
“AlkaProStar offers an alternative on farm straight to rape or distillers this coming season with the added advantage of high levels of starch to supplement underperforming cereal and maize crops while its high alkalinity will help to neutralise highly acidic grass silages,” comments the company’s veterinary technical manager, Dr Debby Brown.
“If dairy producers are to maximise their herd’s performance and minimise health issues including the risk of SARA, then introducing AlkaProStar to the diet can improve rumen function by creating a more stable environment and in turn, increase microbial protein production. Rumen function and overall feed efficiency is subsequently improved, and producers will find they have more settled cows.”
