Buwatec - Recirculation Aquaculture Water Tanks Systems for Fish Farms
Worldwide approximately only one third of all fish farming takes place in natural habitats. It means most fish are bred under more or less controlled circumstances. There has been an upward trend in this sector, because the costs of fishing in open water are increasing. Also, the rising demand for fish products and the production and use of too much feed leads to pollution of the natural habitat. Technically we have the possibilities to control the fish production, with a balance between operational costs and market prices. BUWATEC supplies aquaculture tanks for recirculating aquaculture systems, aquaponics systems and fish farms.
Products Details
Aquaculture
Aquaculture is the collective name for breeding salt and fresh water fish, shellfish and other living organisms in water like algae and samphire. Aquaculture is based on two different systems: open systems and closed systems. The open systems are directly connected with natural water, such as fish breeding farms in fish cages or shellfish farming. Nevertheless, this type of breeding leads to damage of the natural environment and pollution of open water. The closed systems are not directly connected with natural water resources. These closed systems are fish breeding farms with tanks, basins and ponds. Very often, these type of fish farms use recirculation systems in which breeding water is treated, cleaned and re-used as a continues process.
Recirculation systems for fish farms
An essential part of the closed breeding systems is the recirculation circuit. For this specific way of fish breeding, temperature, water use, water quality and use of nutrients is controlled and optimized. In a water treatment process, waste materials are broken down so that the water can be re-used after this process. Therefore, negative effects on the environment are minimized for fish farms based on recirculation of water in fish water tanks.
BUWATEC supplies water tanks for fish farms
Investments in traditional concrete aquaculture tanks are low. The building of these tanks is very time consuming. At the same time, the quality depends on local expertise and the quality of the locally available raw materials. Alternatively, plastic tanks are limited in capacity, are not always suitable for outside use and aren’t cost efficient in transport. BUWATEC has developed open water aquaculture tanks, based on our corrugated steel plates in combination with the appropriate liner. These are fast to build and flexible, reliable water tank for fish farms. In these fish tanks for aquaculture the breeding of tilapia, eel, trout, carps and salmon takes place all over the world.
The installation of a fish tank in aquaculture
The installation of the fish tank needs very limited materials and tools. This allows for a speedy installation of breeding tanks. The operational costs are limited, because all breeding activities take place on and above ground level. The breeding tanks have a height of approximately 1.50 meters above ground level. These tanks are suitable for export to the continents of Africa, Asia, South and Middle Americas, and the rest of the world.
