In the early 1980s, the decline in bare ground tree planting in the UK, along with changes in cultivation techniques resulted in the degeneration of plough manufacturing and so, Douglas Clark, Murray’s son, moved the company into the sale and manufacture of specialised timber harvesting equipment.

In 1986, Wm Clark and Son became the distributor for Indexator AB of Sweden and OFA tyre chains of Finland. Wm Clark and Son also began production of forest machine tracks which eventually became Clark Tracks Ltd as well as a range of log grapples. Over the following years, Wm Clark and Son secured the dealerships of many of the world’s leading forestry equipment manufactures who we still represent today including, ExTe, Cranab, Nokian Tyres, Oregon and Bahco.

Our hydraulic clean room facility is world leading in the service of forestry hydraulic motors from brands such as Indexator, Poclain, Danfoss, Parker and Bosch Rexroth.

At the core of our offering is our extensive manufacturing capabilities. We believe in controlling the manufacturing process all the way from design to the finished product.

Our refueling and storage range and all Powerhand products are designed and manufactured in house.
