The rules and regulations in force offer excellent incentives for the construction of small plants. That’s why Schmack Biogas wants to offer the widest possible range of solutions.

When you are dealing with pumpable biomass (such as, for example, animal slurry or whey) or with specific biomass mixtures, we recommend the use of COCCUS® fermenters, and if your interest is in producing electricity with an installed power up to 190 kW, the use of COCCUS Mini fermenters. They are traditional but smaller fermenters (800 or 1,200 m³), especially developed for the COCCUS® Mini plants.

In the COCCUS® Mini plants, COCCUS® fermenters are equipped with a REMEX® agitator. Deriving from the EUCO® agitators, the REMEX® range is also characterised by long blades arranged like a fan, which break the surface to prevent the formation of crusts or foam, and move the biomass in three dimensions, for effective mixing that involves the entire fermenting substrate. The mixing speed may be adapted to the substrate, thus limiting self-consumption.

The roof of the COCCUS® fermenters, built from fir wood, is covered with felt where the bacteria that oxidise the sulphur that is naturally contained in biogas nest, to guarantee the ideal conditions for the operation of the motor.
The COCCUS® plants are, therefore, circular fermenters, which combine a more classical shape with the attention to the functionality of the agitation and mixing technologies that has always characterised Schmack plants.
