SHARE

Pycno 1610 compound is a partly biobased, compostable compound based on PolyButylene Succinate (PBS), for almost 50% made from beans of the Ricinus tree. Due to the special additive, the compound has excellent flow characteristics and is very suitable for an efficient injection moulding process. The compound provides higher stifnessthan regular PBS.

Bio-degradability
The PBS used in this compound is a certified home and industrial compostable resin according EN13432, certified by TUV Austria.

Packaging
25 kg PE-Bags

Storage
Temperatures during transportation and storage should not exceed 70 °C. Keep resin in dry and ventilated warehouse to prevent moisture. Avoid contacting with soil, water and sludge, and exposing to direct sunlight In its original packaging, the shelf life is minimal 1 year. No special safety and handling requirements are needed.

Processing recommendations
It is recommended to pre-dry the material prior to getting the best processing performance. If the moisture of the resin is less than 0,05% pre-drying may not be needed. Typical drying condition is 2 hours at 80 °C.

The material can be extruded on common injection moulding machines. The extruder should be cleaned properly, noting that optimal extrusion temperatures are relatively low, preferably 140 - 160 °C. To obtain lower melt viscosities, temperatures can be increased to a maximum of 210 °C.
