Capello - Model Spartan -Direct-Cut Header
Designed for the whole-crop harvesting of forage of all kinds, including both mid-height and tall crops. The SPARTAN direct-cut header was created with a view to offering an ever-wider range of harvesting equipment to meet the myriad demands of contractors wanting to keep up with the times. Conceived to work in conjunction with all self-propelled forage harvester types, Spartan comes in three versions with different cutting widths.
Designed to be hitched to the latest self-propelled forage harvesters, it has a large-diameter intake auger with a simple, functional oscillating system to give you a steady crop flow at all times regardless of crop type, especially in difficult conditions.
The cutting disc surfaces, with their special tapered profile, along with the intake auger speed, have been specifically designed so that forage is conveyed gently and evenly into the feeder house, ensuring a steady flow and reducing power demand, even when dealing with laid crops.
The auger’s wear parts are interchangeable and made from high-strength material, specially chosen to withstand considerable prolonged abrasion.
Quick-change knives drastically reduce replacement time, with no tools required. The swathing discs are manufactured with considerable knife overlap, allowing for a perfect cut even when dealing with the thickest, wettest crops.
The cutting disc’s tapered profile features a unique, exclusive design to allow the cut crop to be conveyed towards the intake auger in a steady and consistently symmetrical way.
Continuous constant feeding: with the built-in gearbox (standard issue on all machines), the auger feed rate and crop cutting length can be changed at the same time by simply shifting gear.
The coupler plate is an oscillating model, allowing it to follow the contours of uneven ground.
SPARTAN can be adapted to all self-propelled forage harvester types and models by simply replacing the adapter kit.Spartan can be fitted with levelling sensors and auger control sensors, where your forage harvester configuration so allows.
Silphium kit and Vertical blade kit
CAPELLO has introduced the SILPHIE KIT (optional extra) for special harvesting of the cup-plant, Silphium. The KIT has two vertical cutting blades and a compensator roller that guides the crop inside SPARTAN, resulting in even feeding. The KIT can be fitted on any SPARTAN model.
For harvesting other intertwined crops, VERTICAL BLADE KITS are available (optional extras) comprising one or two blades depending on harvesting requirements.
