Who We Are

When MGK® was founded in 1902, its principal business was grinding spices. By 1915, a variety of botanicals, including pyrethrum, were added to the portfolio. By continually fine-tuning extraction, refinement, standardization and innovation, we consistently develop and provide high-quality pyrethrum-based and man made technological products.

Four generations of family leadership have guided MGK since its founding. In fact, our company name is a nod to our three founding families (McLaughlin, Gormley and King). In 1989, MGK became an affiliate of Sumitomo Chemical Company, a critical relationship to our long-term successes in chemistry, technology, sales and growth.

This long tradition of stability and continuity is a major reason we have earned the respect of business and scientific communities around the world. We pursue new answers to insect control with internal research projects as well as through sponsorship of others at universities and institutions.
